2016 AGO National Convention in Houston

Houston 2016 Convention – Monday June 20

Monday is the first full day of activities. Recitals and workshops are held throughout the day.

Rising Stars from each of the AGO’s seven regions perform at 9:00 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

The AGO Professional Certification Reception will be held at 5:30 pm at the Hilton Americas.

In the evening the first of two concerts at Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will be held. Michel Bouvard performs “Power Dance,” a commissioned work by Joan Tower. The concert will be live-streamed and can be watched at https://wp.agohq.org/live

Houston 2016 Convention – Saturday June 18

The American Guild of Organists’ 53rd biennial convention kicks off today in Houston, Texas. The Hilton Americas hotel serves as convention headquarters.

The Houston Steering Committee has worked tirelessly to create a convention that showcases vibrant performances, world-class instruments, enlightening workshops, creative new music, and inspiring worship.

The convention kicks off with the finals of the National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance (NYACOP) at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church from 9am to 5pm.

Hospitality Suites at the Hilton Americas are open from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Registration is open from 6-8pm.

Houston to Host the AGO 2016 Convention

The 2016 AGO National Convention will take place in Houston, TX and showcase vibrant performances, world-class instruments, enlightening workshops, creative new music and inspiring worship. You will have many opportunities to meet fellow musicians and create dynamic connections. Convention dates are June 19-23, 2016.

Registration begins in October, 2015.
