Central Coast Chapter

[lastupdated]

Message from the Dean
The Central Coast Chapter of AGO was founded in 1989, in order to make it easier for people involved in organ and choral music in Northern Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County to meet to support each other in developing the professional skills needed to perform their various duties.
This part of California is known for its “million-dollar vegetable crops”, vineyards, its Mediterranean-like weather and beaches, California Polytechnic State University, as well as Cuesta and Allan Hancock
Community Colleges.  We are not a densely-populated area, and so do not have a population that enables us to grow a great deal in membership.  However, we have worked hard to maintain a stable membership which has enabled us to introduce students to the organ through “Pedals, Pipes and Pizza”, to sponsor hymn festivals, member recitals and guest artists.  Since the installation of the Forbes Pipe Organ at the Cohan Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly, we have also enjoyed hearing solo organ concerts, and the use of a pipe organ to accompany choral music.
You are invited to any of our meetings.  Please call any of our members if you would like more information.
