Thank you to everyone who came out to Pipescreams! There are many pictures that can be found on our Facebook page. I believe a good time was had by all!
There are two exciting organ concerts coming up this weekend, one of which is tonight! The Central NC Chapter is hosting Stephen Hamilton at Edenton Street United Methodist Church at 7:30 pm. Definitely don’t miss this one! More information and rep list can be found by clicking here. Then this Sunday Lee Treml will be playing his Senior Organ recital at University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill at 3:00 pm.

Saturday, November 11, 2017 @ 2:00 pm – Veteran’s Day Organ Concert. Organists Sara Montgomery and Barbara Snead will play duets including Copland’s “Variations on a Shaker Melody”, from Appalachian Spring, by Copland. Pre-concert music by the church band at 1:40 pm. Multi-age choirs will also present a variety of American music. Raleigh Moravian Church (1816 Ridge Road), Raleigh.

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE, NOVEMBER 2017
Our membership rolls now stand at 56 members. Thanks to all who have renewed their membership for the 2017-2018 program year!
Many thanks to those of you have donated above and beyond your membership dues. It really helps us as far as planning and programming are concerned. Donations are always welcomed. Please remember that contributions beyond dues are encouraged and are tax-deductible.
We also have a scholarship fund from which we have assisted organ students and funded our Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza program. We would appreciate donations to this scholarship fund. We also have a used music sale that benefits our scholarship fund. We also accept donations of your used music, which we are happy to take any time.
Providing accurate information is important to ensure that the 2017-2018 Membership Directory, that will be released sometime this month, contains your most up-to-date contact details. Please make sure to update your data (addresses, phone numbers, email addresses) and fill in all the applicable blanks. If you don’t do so, we won’t be able to have your complete contact information, which will make compiling the directory difficult. You may also send this information directly to me, Lyn Francisco, if you’re having a difficult time with ONCARD.

The American Guild of Organists (AGO) provides a professional opportunities service to its members by sharing information about Positions Available. This includes both permanent “open benches” and also one-time “substitute dates.” The Guild cannot endorse or recommend any person for a job or substitute date. Membership in the AGO is open to all who pay dues, regardless of education, experience, ability and/or skills. The AGO Professional Relations Director passes along information, which may include salaries offered by institutions and specifics about jobs/dates, as information is received from an institution. AGO members are encouraged to negotiate salaries and explore options with each offered position. The Chapter does not accept responsibility for the accuracy of material provided for these listings. Inclusion of information in the listings does not imply endorsement by the Durham-Chapel Hill Chapter, AGO.
It has come to the attention of the Professional Relations Director that we have churches that do not understand that resumes are for the purview of the appropriate search committee. If confidentiality is critical to you, please make it clear in your cover letter that this is a requirement for you, at least in the initial stages of inquiry and dialogue.
If you are seeking a supply organist, the fastest method is to contact the Professional Relations Director with all the pertinent information. When sent to all members by email, many requests are filled within one hour. This method has saved a lot of time otherwise spent in calling an ever-changing list of names. Contact information below.
If you are aware that a church/synagogue position is becoming available, (i.e., you are making a change), please contact the Professional Relations Director as soon as possible for listing and distribution. At no time will the Professional Relations Director recommend anyone for a position, or will we serve as an agent for any member.
