Message from the Dean 

The Riverland Chapter serves members from western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. The Riverland Chapter office is located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in the heart of “God’s country”. We encourage all organists and lovers of the organ in the area to attend our events and join our chapter. The mission of the American Guild of Organists is to foster a thriving a community of musicians who share their knowledge and inspire passion for the organ.

Local Events
Pipescreams: Halloween Concert
Saturday, October 26, 2019
3:00 PM
Wesley United Methodist Church
114 W. Broadway St.
Winona, MN

Join the Riverland Chapter along with performers from the Winona and surrounding area for a thrilling Halloween concert. There will be the traditional organ pieces and more. Costumed handbell ringers will add to the fright. A cat duet, poetry reading and the singing of pumpkin carols are also on the program. The program is free and appropriate for all ages.

 

Michael Burkhardt Workshops
October 5th & 6th, 2019

The Riverland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is proud to sponsor two days with Michael Burkhardt. He will be in La Crosse to present two workshops for clergy and church musicians on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Dr. Burkhardt will perform a concert with a hymn sing on Sunday, October 6, 2019 with a local volunteer choir. Internationally known for his innovative and inspiring hymn festivals and for his creative work with children, Dr. Burkhardt is in frequent demand as a choral clinician, organ recitalist, composer, arranger and hymn festival leader.

9:00 – 9:45      Check-in and coffee
10:00 – noon   Workshop 1: Enliven Worship through Liturgy and Song
12:30 – 1:30    Catered lunch on site
1:30 – 2:30      Workshop 2: Actively Include Children and Youth in Worship
2:45 – 3:45      Choir rehearsal for Sunday’s hymn sing
9:00 – 3:00      Michael Burkhardt’s publications available for purchase courtesy of Leithold Music
