POE Scholarships

Pipe Organ Encounter Scholarship Assistance

Need-based scholarship aid is available to cover full or partial registration fees for attending a POE (POE, POEA, or POE-Tech only, not for POE+). Funds are limited, and scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The AGO Pipe Organ Encounter Scholarship application period is January 15 through April 15 each year.  The application is an online form and asks questions of both the participant and her/his parent(s), and requires the submission of a recommendation from the participant’s organ or piano teacher, also through an online form. To apply for a scholarship, complete the application submission process to attend a POE event, and then contact the director of that POE event to request access to the scholarship application.  The POE Scholarship application can only be completed after participants are accepted to attend a local POE event. Starting January 15,  the link to the scholarship application form will be provided by local POE directors to participants who want to apply.

PLEASE NOTE:  The next POE Scholarship deadline is April 15, 2025 for Pipe Organ Encounter events occurring in 2025.

Scholarship assistance for POE attendance may also be available from local chapters of the AGO or religious or educational organizations in your area.  Click HERE for ideas on fund-raising for POE participants.

Pipe Organ Encounters is an educational outreach program of the American Guild of Organists. Major funding for Pipe Organ Encounters is provided by the Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America. Additional support is provided by the American Institute of Organbuilders and the Jordan Organ Endowment. POE scholarships are provided by the AGO New Organist Fund.
