The AGO Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Organ Scholar Program will offer emerging organists under the age of 30 the opportunity to experience a ten-month paid internship within a significant music ministry program in the United States. Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Memorial Scholarships
The Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Memorial Scholarships are intended to support the education of talented young organists who will make significant contributions to the fields of organ playing and organ studies. Applicants are expected to have existing talent and achievements in the field of organ playing and an expressed commitment to post-graduation teaching, performing, or other serious endeavor with respect to the organ.
The Salisbury Scholarships for Master’s and Doctoral Studies in Sacred Music: Organ, Musicology, and Choral Conducting
The Salisbury Scholarships support full-time graduate students in their development as performers, conductors, or academics in the field of sacred music. Past recipients may reapply but renewal of the scholarship is not guaranteed. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the AGO will accept scholarship applications from March 15–May 15, 2024, from qualified candidates at the master’s or doctoral level. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and complete a FAFSA application for the 2024–2025 academic year.
AGO National Convention Scholarships for Young Organists
In even years, young organists can apply for two scholarships to defray the costs of attending an AGO National Convention. The AGO National Convention Scholarship Fund for Youth/College Students, sponsored by the Houston AGO Chapter, subsidizes registration and hotel accommodations at the official convention hotel, and the Suzanne and Mark Anderson Convention Housing Scholarships for Young Professionals can be applied toward accommodations at the official convention hotel.
